Taxi Drivers
Objective: To
transport animals in a safe, timely manner to and from veterinary appointments.
Specific Duties:
Ø Be on call to drive animals to or from
veterinary visits.
Ø Transport crated cats or leashed dogs in
your own vehicle.
Ø It is possible to specify “no cats” or “no
dogs”.
Ø The morning shift requires transport for
early surgeries (usually at the hospital at 8:00 a.m.).
Ø The afternoon shift requires transport
returning animals to the shelter (usually around 3:00 p.m.).
Qualifications:
Ø The minimum age for a Pet Taxi Driver
volunteer is 18 years.
Ø The driver must be insured and must have a
current driver’s license.
Time
Requirements:
Ø Drivers are on call (usually on specific
weekdays).
Ø Most trips last less than 1 hour.
